	Oraskis Audley Durant | The Seer Oraskis is a naturally gifted seer and thus was instantly made a scholar. Although he is talented at scrying and prophesying, his constant use of his talents mean that they sometimes run amok, interrupting him at various points. It's suggested that sometimes his mind slips into a different point in time as well, to explain his sometimes unintelligible train of thought. This as well as the way his gift has dictated his life is why Viatorus and Oraskis get along extremely well. He is also very much aware of how terrible both his children are and will readily warn others about them. 	Poenia Lyssa Durant | The Scholar of Torment Poenia is the scholar who studies empathic attack, which causes torment, pain and fear. While the attitude and practices involved in studying this make her disliked among others, she is also the most knowledgeable in defending against that same magic. She is well practiced in dissociating whenever she studies, and sometimes forgets to see people as anything other than objects and test subjects, though the isolation that follows torments her equally. People are met with thick layers of backhanded comments and thinly layered insults. That is often after she's prodded and poke to get a reaction. Seeking out ways to torment others is so ingrained that she rarely remembers to stop. Unmarried.
	Sagyne Caecilius Durant | The Scholar of Torment's Aide "Cecil" Sagyne is Poenia's older brother and her protector. He is renowned for his skill in charm magic. He always comes across as a perfect gentleman, earning the admiration of others even when it is undeserved. He focused his practice on charms mostly to protect his sister from the repercussions of her studies. He plays up to the impression he gives of being dim but handsome, something his sister also enforces the idea of. In reality he is well educated and understands his intelligence in relation to the scholars around him, causing him to be modest about his accomplishments in any field. Unmarried.
