Silence falls between the two of them while she considers his words and his sincerity. The priestess matches his intense gaze with a thoughtful one of her own.
"Hecate is many things to many people in many places. She is patron of midwives and healers, seers and mages, spirits and necromancers. In Egypt she is known as Isis, and to Roman worshippers she is a lunar goddess. She is daughter of the night and darkness, of the king and queen of the gods, of the titan of destruction and a titaness of the stars. She is a kind, bright maiden, a patient, inspiring mother and a dark, powerful crone."
"If you truly wish to understand Hecate then you must spend three days meditating on her spheres. On the first day you must guard a three way crossroads and spend as much time there before dusk as you spend after it. On the second day you must guard the threshold of a home, and you must be there before and after dusk. On the third day you must guard the threshold of a tomb, or a place of burial, and you must spend equal time there before and after sunset."
She gives this a moment to sink in before continuing. "If you are open to her, you will find her influence in these places. Then, should she speak to you when you call, you will better understand her."
