To be frank, this isn't the sort of event James Kirk is used to being invited to. The only wedding he'd been asked to attend before now was for his helmsman, and that was an altogether more quiet affair than this. Nevertheless, he's made a considerable effort to look his best in a beige suit with a deep red tie. Trying to at least sort of match Felix in color, if not in style.
Apart from Viatorus and Isidor, Jim Kirk is not familiar with much of the guest list. He stays close to Felix's side intending to play the part of the trophy lover through much of the meetings with magical power players and elite mages leading the discussion. Felix is much more adept at navigating these types of discussions. He'll always have a few choice questions, and makes certain to assist Felix on anything that deals with "modern" Earth. He's made sure to do a bit of research on the time period Viatorus hails from just so he doesn't misstep. When Felix's summoned atronach wanders off to deliver the gifts, she will take Jim's as well.
The grand scale of the ceremony, the dinner involved, and the reception leaves Jim rather impressed with Viatorus' demeanor throughout. The mage has always been rather introverted, but seeing him do his best in front of so many people has Jim beaming, rather happy to see that all is well for his friend. He continues to act as support for Felix throughout the dinner as well, keeping diplomatic and quiet unless spoken to while he takes in the difference in time and culture going on all around him.
Ah, but when the party begins, Captain Kirk finally offers a more casual smile. Until now he has spent all of his attention on Viatorus's family and assisting Felix but now he begins tracking down the familiar faces he knows from the Nexus. Drink in hand he mingles much more on his own, offering charming smiles and conversation wherever he goes. Rest assured that if there is a dance floor, he will be on it.
A social event is just where Jim Kirk likes to be.
