Jim's own smile has an edge to it that bodes every sort of trouble for all involved. Sagyne may be forgiven for a knee-jerk assumption that there are two of his sister in this room right now.

He's not looking over the crowd with that dangerous grin. Jim's looking only at Peonia and their linked arms.
"That's really quite a pity isn't it? Because I don't like you." Picking her arm off of his as though it's a rotten fruit to be carefully discarded lest it burst open. Stepping back with that same smile on his face. "I think I've done enough string pulling for the evening, as it were. I need some better company or all this bad air is going to leave me feeling ill."
There's plenty of people at this gathering Jim does like, though at the moment he's finding himself a bit lost for anyone familiar. Ah, well. He shifts over toward Sagyne and claps a warm hand on his shoulder.
"Now you, I could fancy myself quite enjoying the evening with. I should think I'd enjoy getting to know you better. I can only apologize that until now you've not been properly allowed to express your own opinions."
