"I think so," Viatorus says with a nod. "It certainly helps to understand emotions."

"I need a connection to my family, and the world around me. My magic isn't very elemental." Runa shrugs sheepishly, but smiles. "But I was raised with that connection. I didn't have to learn it."

Viatorus smiles weakly and shifts on the spot while Adia talks about the potential wider impact of his father's work. "I'm glad you like it. I thought it might be interesting for you to see a laboratory from my world. I didn't expect there to be an experiment going on. That was a bit of luck. Now you can see how it's used."

"Perhaps we should head back to the party," Runa suggests softly. "I don't want to interrupt any of this person's work."
